TDV Week in Review May 19, 2013

I usually use this space to examine some reason you readers should get on the New Underground Railroad to get out of the US police state plantation. But occasionally I just need to talk about some blatant idiocy that I came across during the last few days. Sometimes I just see some collectivist, nanny statist nonsense that irks me so much that I can't get a proper night's sleep until I comment on it as publicly as possible.

I've reduced my contact with statists dramatically. I barely talk to my own family anymore. And I've let all communication with statist friends dwindle to nothing. But as willing as my spirit is, my flesh won't let me embrace total voluntaryist monasticism and I keep wooing those women who label themselves as "left wing" or "very liberal". One of them took extreme exception to something harsh I'd written about gun control advocates. And during our discourse on the matter I came across a disturbing gun contol meme on one of her social media pages. It was of a hippy-ish looking older woman with long gray hair and wearing a placard that read:

"When one child hits another with a rock, the answer isn't to give every child a rock."

Ah. How clever. This is obviously meant to counter the argument from the freedom-minded types that letting everyone excerise their basic freedom to arm themselves actually reduces crime and the number of deaths when some madman begins shooting in a public space. But the leftists would rather all the guns be in the hands of the men with uniforms and with a state mandate. And the quote on that placard says why. They see us all as children, ones that cannot act rationally and should thus be shielded from responsibility. The government is in their stunted minds the only table in the room with adults sitting at it. The state is the one that must guide us, restrict our actions, reward us and punish us.

The left likes to think of themselves as the political wing that embraces science and reason. They get evolution and they think they get climate change. Yet these are the people who cry at the thought of guns in the hands of private individuals, but who want certain other men with guns to go take away other people's guns.

They weep with their brown messiah's crocodile tears over the slaughter of a handful of American school children and agree with him that gun ownership needs more restricitons…then say nothing when that charming psycho turns his armies and drones loose to kill hundreds and thousands of children in other parts of the world. If the right national socialist is in power, then they are comfortable with the state having more guns, more tanks, more drones and more bombs and doing whatever it wants with them.

Recall when Chris Rock publicly said, "The president and first lady are kinda like the mom and dad of the country…And when your dad says something you listen. And when you don't, it will usually bite you in the ass later on." This is the sad, sick mindset of the nanny state collectivist. These types ascribe true adulthood only to the sociopaths who manage to get the furthest politically (i.e the ones most willing to use force at gunpoint).

This is the manor/plantation mentality of serfs and slaves. It gives rise to this false comparison of adults with guns to children with rocks. And it will ultimately lead to the majority of Americans embracing the complete surveillance police state with a disarmed citizenry and with its frequent home invasions. Americans will not only welcome the boots on their necks. They will also smile up at their overseers and try to reach those boots with their tongues.

On April 4^th, the Bank of Japan made the announcement that they intended to DOUBLE the money supply and buy government bonds roughly equaling $80B a month. Does this number sound familiar? It should since the US Federal Reserve’s own quantitative easing program is roughly $85 billion-a-month. An important data point to remember here is that the Japanese economy is only 1/3 the size of the US economy, but its own quantitative easing program equals that of the US. To say Japan is “doubling down” on the same failed policy approach it has taken for the last 20 years would be a bit of a misnomer. This is Japan’s “all in” move as I try to keep the gambling metaphor rolling. A gamble is exactly what this is, a very big gamble with no precedent in economic history.”

According to them, simply for publicly proclaiming the fact that the music industry is designed to strangle true talent while promoting mindless drivel.”

THURSDAY, May 16

E-Verify = E-Total State

"The ostensible purpose of the database is to prevent the illegal employment of undocumented immigrants. Employers would be legally obligated to ‘E-Verify' every person they hired; that is, they would be required to ‘match the photo on a covered identity document provided to the employer [by the job applicant] to a photo maintained by a US Citizenship and Immigration Services database.’”
