It’s that time for your favorite Sunday tradition, reviewing what we wrote about at TDV! But before that, let’s take a look at what was in our subscriber-onlu publication, TDV’s Dispatch.
First, in my “Memory Hole” I talked about the end of marijuana prohibition. Next, in his “Vigilantes View”, Jeff Berwick reviewed 2013 and looked forward to 2014. Then, Ed Bugos updated us on the markets and investments.
Jayant Bhandari joined us to update us on India, where the government is forever intruding in the populace’s lives.
Next, Jeff took us around the world of the absurd in his weekly “Other News from TEOTMSAWKI and TDV Related Tidbits”. Finally, we profiled Woody Harrelson.

Here’s what we wrote about this week…
MONDAY, January 6
Jeff Berwick on the newest thief in town.
“Part of the reason why I love my job warning people about The impending End Of The Monetary System As We Know It (TEOTMSAWKI) is because the institutions I rally against do a lot of the work for me.
When I tell you, "the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced the financial and political systems are going to steal all of your savings," many people might think that I am just a little bit off my rocker. But, when the IMF themselves announce that this must be considered an option, I can sit back and let the researchers over at the IMF do much of the work for me. Although, reading their reports is always a difficult refresher in "academese." (the dry language spoken by academics)
Nonetheless, I did gather some key facts from the report.”

The Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Get Your Assets Out of the Western Financial System Now
Jeff Berwick simplifies why it’s time to escape the West with your money.
“Many people are not aware of the incredibly dire, impending risks of holding your assets in the Western world in the immediate future. Mainstream media will not tell you about much of this. Politicians definitely won't… at least not directly.
But, this is all factual information, all from government sources, in fact, with references that paints a very clear, dire picture. The picture couldn't really be any clearer once you see this information.
Here is just the top five of literally dozens of reasons why you should be looking to secure your assets now.”

A Worldwide Concerted Effort to Shut All Doors Internationally for Americans and Westerners
Berwick on the shutdown on those trying to escape the tax dragnet.
"There is a worldwide, concerted effort going on to shut down any way for people and corporations to escape the Western tax dragnet or even to get foreign citizenship and leave. It is being led by the US government and I have seen it countless times. I've now seen it so many times that I consider it to be nothing but fact.
I saw it in the Dominican Republic (DR), where it used to take only three years to get citizenship as early as six years ago. Then it was moved to four years. Then six…. seven. And, it now effectively takes eight years. TDV Passports has had dealings in the DR for years and we asked the top legal firm and government officials there what was going on. They told us, point blank, that the US government was forcing them to make it harder and harder for people to get a DR citizenship.”

30 Predictions for 2014 and What You Must Know to Prepare
Wendy McElroy looks ahead to 2014.
"I cannot shake a sticky feeling of optimism about 2014.
It rose in me for the strangest reason yesterday. CNN was providing background noise when a term caught my ear: bug-out bag. This is a portable kit of the items you need to survive for seventy-two hours. The Red Cross suggests keeping one on hand in case it is necessary to quickly evacuate your home due to a disaster. But the term “bug-out-bag” is most often associated with survivalist ‘cranks’ who are prepping for when the SHTF (sh** hits the fan) – that is, they are preparing for an economic and social collapse.”

How to End Up Somewhere Totally Unexpected: The Weekend Vigilante January 11, 2014
Jeff Berwick is back in Acapulco with his weekly address to TDVers…
“Normally I have some interesting stories about what I've done for the last week but it is pretty tough to have really interesting stories when you've barely left the house all week! I think I left once for a one-hour meeting all week… so, I thought I'd get introspective on this edition of the Weekend Vigilante and talk about some of the choices I have made in my life that led me here.
‘How did I end up here?’ This is exactly what I found myself wondering this week.
Certainly, if when I was 14 you let me look into a crystal ball and told me that this is a glimpse of your future nearly thirty years from now and I looked in and there was a fairly confident, decent looking guy, with a beautiful Mexican wife, living in Acapulco with five amazing dogs and two beautiful kids, speaking Spanish with them… I would have certainly have called the fortune teller a fraud!”
TDV VIDEO
In this week’s feature video Jeff is interviewed by Christopher Cantwell and Eddie Dunn on Some Garbage Podcast. He discusses his escaping from jail in St Kitts Island, how to become an international citizen and the peoples relationship with authority in Mexico.
