Hello from Anarchapulco,
Before I get on to the news of the day, let me recount how I got here a few days ago.
I awoke to the phone ringing.
I didn’t fully hear it at first, like I was coming back from a deep trance. Then it rang again… and again.
I still didn’t fully awaken. But somewhere in my mind I said, “Hmmm, three times? Must be important” and so I staggered across the room and missed the call by a half ring.
“That’s irritating,” I thought… I had fully made the effort to answer it yet still didn’t. Seemed like a wasted expenditure of effort.
I was about to fall back into bed when Skype began ringing on my laptop on the other side of the room. I made my way over and missed it too by a half-Skype ring.
“Goddamn it,” I thought. I am actually trying to answer these calls but keep missing them. Frustrating! Because usually I make no effort at all to answer most calls… especially at this ungodly hour of 8am.
Then Skype rang again. I was right in front of my computer so I clicked “Video answer”, standing naked and confused.
“Yes, what?” I asked.
It was my wife.
“Berwick!” she said in her signature style.
“Where am I?” I asked as I usually do… the result of having been in a different city or country nearly every day for the last 15 years.
“Mexico City!” she exclaimed. “Your flight is in 45 minutes!”
I threw the drapes open to double check and looked out upon the sprawling city of 30+ million.
“Dammit, you’re right!” I replied and ended the call.
“Is it possible I can still make my flight from deep inside Mexico City… being at least a 20 minute drive from the airport in the best of traffic conditions?” I thought.
Only one way to find out. I luckily hadn’t even unpacked from the previous day in some other country in some hotel room or trailer park. I threw my clothes on, grabbed my bags and took the elevator downstairs.
“I need a car to the airport, please,” I said in Spanish and things went into motion. One concierge grabbed my bag while another called a car forward. I even stopped for a cigarette during the process. I tipped the concierge 20 pesos ($1.50). Time until flight 38 minutes.
I hopped in the back seat and began to slowly realize where I was and what I was doing. The last thing I vaguely remembered was going out with a client around 1am the night before. My phone was out of battery so I must have returned fairly drunk and not even plugged it in.
“Do you have a Samsung charger?” I asked the driver.
“Of course,” he replied, passing me the car-charger and I began to revive my S4. "So good to be back in a non-third world country," I thought. Now 28 minutes until my flight.
We pulled up to what looked like a massive traffic jam, which is not at all unusual in Mexico City. The driver looked back at me, winked, and tore off down some backstreets and alleys. It was a little bit like being on a roller coaster but within 10 minutes we were at Terminal 2 at Mexico City Airport. 18 minutes before my flight to Acapulco.
I walked up to the “Titanium” aisle of AeroMexico. Their levels go silver, gold, platinum and then titanium… I’m not sure if that mirrors the actual value of those metals but considering I basically live in the Mexico City airport I am the top level whatever they want to call it… while thinking to myself, "I can't wait until the top level on an airline is ´bit´ level."
“Where to, sir?” she asked.
“Acapulco,” I said. 15 minutes prior to flight.
“Oh, you are a little late," she said.
"No shit, sherlock," I thought to myself, wondering how to translate that into Spanish before deciding it was futile and just nodding.
She handed me my pass and the total time to get through from the check-in to the gate was about three minutes in the largest international airport in Mexico and I found they hadn't even called my name yet… which is one of my only strange fetishes… I like to wait until they call me and be the last aboard. It is probably an old influence from having grown up in Edmonton, Kanada where Wayne Gretzky was always the last to skate onto the ice.
But I do have ulterior motives. Boarding last always gives you the best option of the final seats remaining. Or, if you feel like, sitting beside a cute girl… whatever you are in the mood for.
In this particular instance there was an entire exit row empty and I sat down, acted like it was my seat and took in a deep breath. "How in the world did I make this flight?" I said to myself. Thirty-five minutes ago I was asleep in a hotel room in downtown Mexico City!
"Viva Mexico," I whispered under my breath.
Everything just works so much better here than in a third world country like the US.
NEWS OF THE WEEK
So, now happily planted back in Anarchapulco I have some time to take a closer at the "news" of the last week.
Oh, the US government creating nearly World War III in Crimea? No, there were two bigger stories this week that caught the public's attention… a plane is missing and we have to ban the word "bossy".
I don´t mean to be bossy here but allow me to begin talking about a missing Malaysian airlines flight first.
THE MISSING BOEING
First, I have to say, it is quite surprising how after a plane goes missing for a few days how many people immediately conclude it must be aliens. I mean, I realize that is a possibility but there may be other reasons!
Secondly, I have to recant all of my thoughts on 9/11 and admit I was wrong. Apparently, airplanes can just completely disappear into thin air. I thought I was crazy when I saw that image of where the plane during 9/11 "crashed" in Shanksville and I doubted it.

It turns out these planes can just turn into small garbage fires or less at a moment's notice! I apologize to all those who watched the "United 93" movie and were so angry with me!
I'm now with you, "Go Time!" as they said. Or, wait… that wasn't it… "Just Pull It!".
Wait, that wasn't it either. Oh yes, it was "Let's Roll".
In any case, whatever happened, I am not so sure that a plane full of Chinese people wouldn't ACTUALLY (not falsely as with United 93) fight back and kill any hijackers as happened during this flight in China in 2012 when passengers killed two hijackers and subdued the other five.
While others took pictures of it no less!

Heck, even if you are asked to switch seats with someone else in China a brawl erupts and people are taken off on stretchers.
The Chinese aren't like whipped American sheeple who all call 911 or wait until an Air Marshall gets involved. The Chinese will go Jackie Chan on your ass.
For this reason I am not sure about the idea that this Malaysian Airlines flight full of Chinese was hijacked.
Do I know what happened? Hell no, I wasn't there. But this is the best theory I've heard yet.
In any case, it doesn't really matter… unless you or someone you know was on that flight.
What's much, much more important this week is that we need to ban the word "bossy"!
BOSSY BAD!
Forgetting again for the moment that the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Barack O´Bomber is trying to foment World War III, this is much more important and, after the missing plane, is leading headlines.
We have to ban the word "bossy" according to Michelle O´Bomber and Beyonce.

I really don't know what to say about this… except they both sound a little bossy.
WHAT'S NEXT
I actually may stay in Acapulco for a few weeks which I am incredibly excited about. I am meeting with a number of dollar vigilantes who either now live here or are visiting in about half an hour… plus a few new friends from the Mexican bitcoin community.
Also, if you are interested in our next TDV Wealth Management Crisis Conference, the dates are now all but set at April 30-May 3 in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. If you've been waiting to get involved in that feel free to contact TDV Wealth Management now to reserve your spot. It, again, will be a small, exclusive affair. And, with all the news going on with FATCA time is running out to protect your assets from the US government or many other governments around the world who are like wolves with steak knives looking at your assets.
Barack O'Bomber, the dicktator just signed another "Executive Order" this week stating that if you disagree with him on what he is doing in the Ukraine he reserves the right to take all your assets. I am not kidding.
And with that I will blend into the night here in Acapulco and thank god I nor my assets are within reach of the US government nor many of the other governments on the prowl.
Things are already interesting this year, and are going to get much, much more interesting. Prepare now.
