I was around before the internet.  I was always on computers but they had 48k of RAM (not 48mb, not 48gb… 48 kilobytes), had modems that sounded like a fax machine and only one person could get on at a time and our computer monitors were about the size of a Galaxy Note and comachrome.  What's comachrome, you ask? Well, basically you had one color you could choose from.  The most popular were green and orange.  I was excited to get my first green-only monitor because before that I had a 1970s tube black & white television as a monitor.

Founded upon the principles of freedom, Liberland has received tens of thousands of applications for citizenship in a 3 square mile country where taxes are optional and military is non-existent.

Today is “Tax Freedom Day,” in the US, but that is already an oxymoron of terms as no such day can exist in reality because tax (extortion) is the opposite of freedom.

But, yes, if you are an average person who lives in the USSA, today is the final day where almost all of your earnings are extorted from you and from this day forward, theoretically, you can actually keep what you have worked for.

Those who have followed The Dollar Vigilante since its inception in 2010 have likely noticed numerous changes and iterations of our style and format over the last five years.

As an incredibly brief history, I started it out of a passion and interest in the information I was uncovering about the financial, monetary and political systems.  At first, like any fresh new blog on the interweb there were sounds of crickets chirping.  I'd write something and maybe 10 people would notice it.

However, within a year it had seemed to gain major traction amongst the "crazies" who thought that maybe there is a bit more to know than what you are told by the government or CNBC.

Libertarian circles have been in a massive debate about Rand Paul.

Small government libertarians seem fairly split on Rand, finding much of what he says to be "
not that libertarian"
and pure libertarians, also known as anarchists, are also quite split on whether Rand would be good or bad in terms of achieving more freedom and less government.

Rand Paul is, at the very least, libertarian leaning. As one blog wrote, “

Tomorrow in the US is the last day for tax slaves to pay their extortion fees.  
It'
s a day, as a Permanent Tourist/Prior Taxpayer (PT), on which I remember how lucky I am to legally not have to pay income tax in any jurisdiction.  
But, I realize it is a painful day for many.  
In a way it is painful for me, also, to know that millions are being forced at gunpoint to hand over a large amount of their income to the biggest terrorist organization on Earth (the definition of terrorism being "
the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes"
), the US federal government.

Last week we commented on how activists in New York had gotten around the government removal of an Edward Snowden statue by replacing his image with a hologram.

In the constant battle between the free market and its evil nemesis, government, the stakes were raised dramatically in Spain a few days later!

For those unaware, the fasco-communist government in Spain has been systematically destroying the economy and as its citizenry gets more unemployed (unemployment has been between 20-30% for the last few years) and upset the government has become incredibly tyrannical.

In Mexico, time is governed by nature, not government, at least for many. We here at The Dollar Vigilante would like to pledge our support to the indigenous peoples of Oaxaca who have refused to observe government time.  
Instead, they observe the time of their ancestors. As Mexico News Daily reports,

It could be said that time has stopped in some rural areas of the state of Oaxaca, but it certainly didn’
t change last Sunday morning when most of the rest of the country advanced their clocks by one hour.

Well, it'
s been a few weeks since I dropped everything and flew to Monterrey, Mexico, to try Ayahuasca.  
I'
ve received dozens of messages asking me about the experience and I mostly wanted to take a few weeks to reflect on it before coming out with a comment on it.

As preface, and as I'
ve said before, I like to try everything once.  
I really dislike people who have never had a drink but hate alcohol.  
Or who have never had a puff of marijuana but demand that people with guns, being paid with extorted money, go out and kidnap people caught with it.
