Flags flew at half staff around the world. Current and former top gangsters flew in from all points to pay their respects. The mainstream state-dependent media tells us that a good man has died. So you just know that despite his lovely smile, Nelson Mandela must have been something of a monster.
Back in his prime Mandela was a violent communist resisting a rascist, fasco-socialist colonial state. It gets tricky hoping for both sides to lose. So most people around the world played it safe and backed the black guy instead of the racist apartheid government that put him behind bars for nearly three decades. Then, much as they did after World War II, they pretended that the racist fascist national socialist was pure evil while the murderous communist was the selfless, world-improving good guy. We here at TDV still think that in a match between Hitler and Stalin, you should hope they both knock each other into bloody comas.
I don't say these things lightly. My father's side of the family is a bunch of black Carib redistributionista socialists/communists in the Mandela mold. They are mourning his death and I don't dare put a word of derision about the man on my Facebook page.
Hey, I get it. A bunch of odd-looking invaders set up a government on top of your people. Then they add insult to injury by shutting you and your people out of certain jobs, and telling you where your kind can live and who can have intimate relations with whom. I'd be pretty pissed off, too.
But what I wouldn't do is then set up a government that plunged my country into even more misery the first chance I got. Mandela's racism-flavored communist policies have turned South Africa into an increasingly impoverished and economically schlerotic rape-and/or-kill zone, arguably the biggest such zone the world has ever seen.
Socialist/communist policy can always be counted on to destroy standards of living and wreck an economy…but in South Africa this economic anti-life philosophy has collided with centuries of imperialism and decades of simmering, segregationist resentment to culminate in a special kind of hell on earth.
Somehow the world manages to miss all that. They tell themselves that a chocolatey saint has passed and left a beatific legacy. Their masters and the media reassure them that it is so.
Of course, these are the same liars, psychopaths, meddlers and enablers that want you to believe that a "mixed" economy isn't just another way to say "fascistic corporatism"…or that debt-and-inflation-funded mass murder makes the world freer and safer…or that you can just keep your wages in a cartel-monopolized "currency", toss some of it in the stock market and somehow everything will turn out okay.
