Well, still over here filling the bomb shelter in case of World War III. I hear it's so inevitable Steven Spielberg already has a WWIII film in development.
We kid, but we worry… Time to leave for safer places, no?

UKRAINE AND TAXES?
Dear TDV,
“… blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in."
Whoa! So I guess that means all one has to do to prevent the IRS from seizing property is assert some governmental authority over some part of the Ukraine? That could save the world a heap of trouble! Let's all assert some governmental authority!
We, the taxpayers of the USA, hereby declare under our authority as emperors-in-chief of Kyiv, Ukraine, that all Ukrainians within the city, upon meeting a fellow Ukrainian, must greet him in a pleasant manner. Failure to show such simple civility for fellow citizens of Ukraine is punishable by a fine of 0.0001BTC, to be paid in Euros, USD, BTC, or any other digital currency based on bitcoin to the other citizen who did not receive the greeting.
The US treasury should be broke pretty soon (Oh wait, it already is. Hmm…), so all you agents of the US government who continue to rely on the mass perception that the USG does any good for humanity and ignore the fact that the dollars you get for serving those parasites are constantly dwindling in purchasing power, should consider quitting now.
“Every US Taxpayer”
Jeff’s Response:
As we suspected, things have only grown worse in the Ukraine for the people.

That piece and some of the other writings I've done on the Ukraine predicted the IMF would get involved in a big way, and they have.
As we predicted, the IMF is all over Ukraine. In a recent piece of legislation in the Ukraine, the Ukraine Finance Ministry proposed to do what was done in Cyprus by bailing in depositors.
The new tax on deposits in excess of 100,00 Hryvnia (about $10,000 USD) doesn't bode well, although Kieve has vowed to keep deposits safe. The new Ukraine tax proposal is valid on 1.5% of all deposits in a sad attempt to stabilize the Ukraine's economy and budget. This is exactly what the IMF has done historically and continues to do.
The IMF is heavily dependent upon US subsidies. For this reason, yes, the US taxpayer is on the hook for the bailout. It's called wealth re-allocation (a form of confiscation), and it's gone global.
Can someone please let Ukrainians know that they have another option besides two different cages? Throw off government completely, do trade with all and entangling alliances with no one and become incredibly prosperous. Or wallow in statist slavery and war for another hundred years.

THE TDV WEALTH MANAGEMENT CRISIS CONFERENCE
Dear TDV,
I have convinced my parents to go to your upcoming conference in Cabo at the end of April. I am a long time TDV subscriber and am 100% on board with what you are saying but they are slow to come to the realization of what is really going on in the world. However, I have forwarded a few of your writings to them and while they still don't fully believe that the US will be ground zero for the upcoming economic collapse (they still watch a lot of TV) they have said that there is enough valid info for them to at least take the time and meet with your group for some one-on-one information.
Because what I (and you) tell them doesn't jive with what they hear in the President's speeches or on CNN they think we might all be a little bit crazy. I am just thankful that you guys have brought forward so much valid information with which we can open their eyes. They still have 100% of their assets in the US and mostly in their standard IRA, mutual funds, general stocks and bonds… They even have a financial advisor who thinks this is totally prudent… and as you pointed out this week, it is incredibly risky and most financial advisors are government trained and regulated and just parrot the mainstream government and media line.
I am hoping, and know, that once they return from the Crisis Conference they will at the very least have had their eyes opened and be aware of the risks.
As for me, I am in my early 40s and already expatriated to Asia, seeing the writing on the wall in the US and through your writings I have properly set-up all my financial affairs and my internet business in offshore jurisdictions and my savings are mostly in hard assets. I just would hate to see the decades of hard work my parents had done go down the drain with the US financial and monetary system.
Thank you!
Jordan L.
Hi Jordan,
This is one of the things we've really noticed is that a lot of our readers are more like you (although not all, by any means as we have subscribers as young as 15 to one in their 90s including one who is in his 80s who is in the top 20 richest people on Earth) and the biggest trouble they have had is convincing their baby-boomer parents who have a nice nest egg about what is about to happen.
Unfortunately, many baby-boomers grew up in a different world and always assumed that what they saw from the media or heard from the government was true. Back in the 60s, to at least some extent, it was (at least compared to today's propaganda). They've seen a lot of good times, lived in a much freer environment (the US police state has really only risen egregiously in the last decade) and they have something called "normalcy bias". Since they have never, in their lifetime, seen a complete collapse of the US dollar nor any massive economic strife they assume it will just continue on that way.
It is fortunate they have a son like you who is paying attention to today's world (which has changed dramatically) who can at least keep them somewhat informed on these changes and help them to protect themselves. Social Security (what I call Socialist Insecurity) was bankrupt decades ago, most pension funds will be nationalized, capital controls are coming into effect, the dollar will continue towards hyperinflation and we will see banks and brokerages in the US go down with the entire system leaving many people who thought they were safe and secure suddenly left with nothing.
If we can at least open your parents eyes to that and get them to take at least a small percentage of their assets and diversify that outside of the US and into hard assets (gold, silver, foreign real estate and holdings) then they will have an excellent chance of making it through The End Of The Monetary System As We Know It (TEOTMSAWKI).
To anyone reading, if you have parents or other people in your life that you think need to hear this information, please urge them to come to our upcoming Crisis Conference (click here for more info or click here to go direct to the official conference page) in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico from April 30 to May 4th. We have a number of experts who will all be presenting the case in a way that they can understand (our top presenter and the lead person at TDV Wealth Management is Michael Ross… who is 75 years old and has been helping people internationalize for decades).
The more people we can help sidestep the upcoming collapse the better off we will all be!

FEAR
Hey Jeff,
I've been talking about the difference between irrational fear and rational fear (sort of) with a few different people. I am rather fearless (or foolish, according to some people) because of the disdain I have for legislation. I worry a tiny bit that the parasite class might latch its tiny little teeth onto my ass someday, somehow, but it's a tiny worry, and I carry a can of OFF, so it doesn't worry me too much.
However, I am more worried about the desperate poor turning to the immorality of thuggery once the ineffective parasite class runs out of excuses for taking that role itself. I know, I know, they will never run out of excuses. So I guess I mean is: when they run out of willing victims. Something's got to give, and when it does, there will be boatloads of desperados. Somewhere between 50 and 100% of them will listen to reason long enough to become valuable to people like me who subscribe to the "Teach him to fish, but don't give him fish" philosophy (and become agorists). The remaining, if any, might just shoot me to take my stuff.
I'm sure that is already happening on a small scale, and knowing the stories of those foolish desperate people and their victims might be your best bet for getting people like me to get the hell out of here. We see the coming horror, but we love too many people who don't see it, so we can't, in good conscience, just leave. Instead, we can point to these stories of the desperate poor damaging those who could help them because the parasite class has made them too stupid to be cooperative.
Only, I don't know how to find these stories. I don't know what to point at for my family and friends, and say, "Look at that violence. It's headed this way, and there's nothing we can do about it except leave." I still see the chance that we're wrong about that. I imagine there are areas in the USSA where the general level of stupidity hasn't gotten deep enough to support it. I like to imagine I'm living in one. If I'm wrong, I'd like to see evidence of it.
Dave
Jeff’s Response:
Hello Dave.
I think you have a rational fear, but I am no psychologist. Here's my reasoning: the people in your life who have never read a history book and sat back to think about it have no idea what the cage is they are living in. They don't realize their entire life is a scripted play masquerading as a pageant of plastic. They might as well be living on mars, because society is totally alien to how life on this planet should naturally be. For one, "progress", which people call the advancement of this civilization, is based on violence and theft. The biggest, strongest people on the planet take money from the poor and assets from the rich and say it is for the greater good when really it is just so a sick society, which most of humanity opposes, can continue on. This is government, and it is what it does: rob, steals and murders.
There are still some bastions of free thought in the US. I know that the pacific northwest is one, some rural areas of Texas (although not on George W's ranch), a lot of libertarians are moving to the Free State project in New Hampshire (where unfortunately they are arrested on a daily basis) and then there is a lot of culture in parts of Texas and Arizona. But, there is one problem – the state-sanctioned gangs. They know no cultural nuances, only orders from the top. So when the time comes for them to begin moving on bastions of free thought in the US, they will do it and have no problem using violence. This goes for many places on the planet, except for a few parts of the world, which we go over in the Dollar Vigilante Newsletter.
The truth is that no ones knows exactly what is going to happen… but something is definitely going to happen. At the very least stay out of large population centers like Los Angeles and New York. All I really know is that I feel much more secure in a place like Mexico or many other Latin American countries than I do in the US. The US just seems like a powderkeg ready to explode right now and I'd rather eat tacos at the beach (at AcaCondos as example – our little anarchist enclave) and watch it on TV than outside my living room window.
But, the parasites are endemic, so you might want to order a few more cans of OFF.

TYRANNY, PLEASE
Dear TDV,
But, this is what the people want. What they want is what the leader must deliver. This obviously puts a very visible dead end on an otherwise good looking road map – what if the people want a tyranny?
This is what the federalist government was supposed to prevent, and then later the constitution, being the set of laws that cannot be changed.
In previous times, people were brighter, as the number of people wasn't as great (total intelligence on earth is an unchanging value, a constant), and thus they were able to see the necessity for the unchangeable law, and even yet earlier an "immutable law". This days, however, it is easy to "explain" to them how a constitution needs to be "a living, breathing document", – their comparative facilities are not on par with those of their predecessors.
So then, now, what if the people will want a tyranny? Well, these days, they shall receive it, and Obama will deliver. How else are they supposed to reduce the population in order to get smarter in order to understand how to stop the murder? The natural balance must reassert itself.
Mava
Jeff’s Response:
Hello Mava. Good to hear from you again. It isn't about "tyranny and freedom" for so many. Unfortunately, they feel as if they have to choose between control (law and order) and something more natural, something more vague and unknown, anarchy (chaos). Without realizing the wealth of opportunities to improve their daily lives this would bring to many across the planet as well as their own life, they figure it would be a difficult and harsh existence. The opposite is true – it'd be bountiful and dynamic.
I am not sure intelligence has fallen because intelligence is a constant on planet Earth. I have a different suspicion about intelligence… first of all, intelligence is impossible to really quantify… but in the US, as just one example, there has been a very focused effort to dumb down the population (through all manner of things including fluoridated water, public skools, controlled media, etc.).
You could say, by IQ, that Ben Bernanke is incredibly smart. Yet, he has almost no understanding of real economics. He, like many in the West today, are incredibly good at memorizing incorrect information… is that "intelligent"? To me, Ben Bernanke is one of the most stupid (using the dictionary definition: a tendency towards self-destruction… or in this case, economic destruction) people I have ever heard. Janet Yellen seems to be following in his footsteps but may be even stupider as she doesn't even realize, yet, that the main role of the Fed Chairman is to obfuscate and confuse people about how they are being stolen from via inflation.
In any case, if the people want tyranny they should be happy, they got it.
