Hello from beautiful Acapulco Bay,
What is life? I don't know. But, I've been on a long, spontaneous and organic journey and am slowly grasping the truth about life.
I've come, at this point, to believe that there is definitely much more to life than most people seem to know. On the more traditional collective religions, I don't believe Jesus was "god". My research seems to indicate that he was an anarchist who fought against governmental control in Rome, for which I do hold him in high regard. I'm still blurry on the Koran but it appears that Mohammed said many things that don't seem possible to know when he said them… which is interesting.
This video expanded my mind somewhat… especially that it appears to offer scientific proof that we don't know how life was created. I've always said, well, if the big bang was the start of life, who/what started the big bang?
Beyond that, I've asked trusted advisors, like Doug Casey, what is life about. Doug said, "Well, I'm a solipsist" which, according to Wikipedia means:
Solipsism (i/ˈsɒlɨpsɪzəm/; from Latin solus, meaning "alone", and ipse, meaning "self") is the philosophical idea that only one's own mind is sure to exist. As an epistemological position, solipsism holds that knowledge of anything outside one's own mind is unsure. The external world and other minds cannot be known, and might not exist outside the mind. As a metaphysical position, solipsism goes further to the conclusion that the world and other minds do not exist. As such it is the only epistemological position that, by its own postulate, is both irrefutable and yet indefensible in the same manner.
When I questioned him on it, however, and asked, "If you believe that no one else exists but yourself (your mind/spirit/soul), then why even bother speaking in public or writing books?"
He answered, "It's a bit more nuanced than that."
What I have noticed, however, is that the more interested you are in something the more the world seems to send you more information of interest, spontaneously. Spencer C, a TDV subscriber, sent me this video:
In fact, countless people sent me stuff like this in the last few weeks as I pondered deeper on what is life about. It's strange that. You seem to draw to you what you are seeking.
I've come across these ideas before. Particularly with two "comedians" that are favorites of mine, Bill Hicks and George Carlin. I use quotation marks around "comedian" because while they are funny, they are actually philosophers. After all, as George Bernarnd Shaw said, "If you are going to tell people the truth, be funny or they will kill you". And so, they did.
But, what does this have to do with Dollar Vigilante stuff and freedom and liberty you may ask? What's with all this hippy-dippy shit?
Well, I've found that many of us who have started to "awaken" and realize what is going on go down similar paths. I was especially gratified and humbled to see this interview by anarchist, and freedom fighter, Luke Rudkowski, interview David Icke on this topic.
Another person I really like, Joe Rogan, has talked about DMT.
I've never done DMT but I want to. If you have any and you see me in the right place and right time, I'd like to try.
But, here is the interesting part, I started a few years ago here at Dollar Vigilante at looking into what is going on on this planet… government, central banks, money, economics and I've gone down the rabbit hole. But, you realize at some point that there is even more to know. Much more important knowledge.
So, I sat down with my incredibly strong and connected Aztec (Mexican) wife yesterday. And, I asked. "What is life?"
Her answer was beautiful. "It's the moment," she said. As though it was obvious. By the way, if I haven't expressed how much I love my wife, allow me to do it again here. She is beautiful… not just physically… but, more importantly, her soul.
Now, let's get back to solipsism and the idea that we all create our own reality. Does my wife exist or did I create her? I hope that doesn't sound narcissistic, which I've been accused of by people who may or may not exist, but it is an interesting question. Or, if as Doug Casey says, it is more nuanced than that, did I at least attract her into my life by my energy?
Many people ask why I have a smile on my face and laugh as I talk about incredibly perilous sounding things like monetary system collapse and a very chaotic paradigm shift to a new world.
Well, the truth is, I do look at life a little like Bill Hicks, as life just being "a ride". It's fun and scary and full of loud noises… but, it's just a ride.
I don't worry. As long as I have a drink or a cigarette in front of me… and maybe some pretty girls around, I'm generally quite content. Or, loved ones… wife, kids, dogs.
One of the great things I've been involved in is Galt's Gulch Chile. The saying, "if you build it they will come" comes to mind when I think about this experience. And so many amazing people seem to be gravitating there.
Yesterday, by our pool on the hills above Acapulco beach I asked my son, "What is life?"
He told me… "there are bad and good things.. and the bad things are there to make you appreciate the good things".
I stood, motionless for a few moments as his wide, beautiful eyes looked deep into me. I asked another question.
"How do you know this?" I asked an eight-year-old.
He responded, "We can't remember… with each new life we forget, but it is within us."
Wow.
Signing off… I don't know if you exist for real or not, but if you do, I hope you can enjoy some of the same experiences I've been enjoying lately and I thank you for being part of my experience. And, don't forget, the tough times are there to make you appreciate the good times.
