The Conductor Buys A Ticket

I think it's time for me to take a ride on the New Underground Railroad myself.

Galt's Gulch, Chile (GGC) project manager, Ken Johnson, has invited me down to Santiago to help out. Of course, helping out and spending time in beautiful Santiago are not the only reasons I should go…

The offer came the same day that the Obama administration won back the right to indefinitely detain under NDAA. This NDAA Section 1021 legality nonsense has been going on for a couple of years as the USSA tries to make it nice and "legal" for its military to throw anyone it wants down a deep, dark hole forever with no official charges. Trust me, I know it can seem hyperbolic to state it thus, but it's true.

The NSA, Prism, NDAA, drones, militarized domestic cop soldiers…the US government will be monitoring every single thing its subjects do or say, and it will kidnap any troublemakers on a whim. The authorities will simply label anyone who annoys them as having ties to "terrorism" and make them disappear.

This would be wild, alarmist speculation…except that it's already happened. Right now it's only the larger threats to its image that the US government is torturing. But the attention will eventually spread to the smaller gadflies like your mouthy editor…and even to those of you who read and spread the word. Today Bradley Manning. Eventually all the rest of us. If you've been demanding the state respect your privacy…or that citizens should keep their arms for protection from both common thieves and the ones in political office…or that taxation is theft…or that the state itself is a civilization-devouring immorality…then you probably have reason to worry.

I said very publicly about a year ago that Obamacare was the last straw for me. That it was clearly time for me to go. But I had personal and financial entanglements that made me hesitate. In the last year I've let these entanglements dissolve. Hell, I barely speak to my own statist family anymore. And there are any number of statist women that I need to run from anyway. And now Galt's Gulch, Chile is really picking up steam… heading down to Chile seems like a no-brainer. It may be time for me to work the New Underground Railroad from the other end.

That theft makes the situation a monopoly based on the violence inherent in the threat of force (kidnapping, caging and possible murder) behind the collection of taxes.”

The latest from state fugitive Edward Snowden shows how Microsoft and the NSA worked closely together to ensure the US government has ready access to the email accounts of millions — Bill of Rights be damned. Given Bill Gates' chummy relationship with Obama, Warren Buffet, and the rest of the elite political class, Microsoft preying on its customers is no surprise. But the lack of outrage over the whole quasi-fascist affair is troublesome.”
